Qu'est-ce que Screening ?
Definition
Screening (or pre-selection) is the first filtering step of incoming applications. Its goal is to quickly eliminate profiles that do not meet the minimum criteria (qualification, experience, location) so that only a manageable number of files need detailed review.
In practice
Screening can be automated via an ATS that filters CVs by keywords, or done manually. It leads to a shortlist of candidates who will proceed to interviews. A 15–20 minute phone call is often part of the screening process.
Key takeaway
Overly strict screening risks eliminating potential talent. Keep knock-out criteria limited to genuine job requirements.
